Project Baby Love was founded in 2019 by then-high school student Ahnwyn Bowden who had a dream to help NICU families at PeaceHealth in Springfield, Oregon. Our organization has since expanded to include more NICUs in the Pacific Northwest as well as refugees in East Africa. Our teams work in the Pacific Northwest to deliver care packages and resources to NICU families as well as in East Africa to provide refugees with basic necessities.

PBL began with the very simple idea of providing NICU families with more support. Since 2019, our care packages have become a fundamental aspect of our organization as well as for the NICUs we serve.
Our care packages are built around the foundation of handmade baby blankets. We also include specialized clothing for NICU and premature babies donated from companies, including Little Mouse UK as well as baby hats made by volunteers.
Care packages also include lists of other resources for families as well as pelvic PT exercises for moms.
Whenever funding allows, we also include other much-needed items including gas/food/hotel gift cards and postpartum items.

We partner with Vitamin Angels to provide Vitamin A supplements and deworming treatments to young refugee children, as well as multi-nutrient supplements to pregnant women. This helps to decrease childhood morbidity (sickness) and mortality (death).

At our PBL office in Uganda, we host a variety of workshops for our refugee beneficiaries. These include education on the menstrual cycle and creating reusable menstrual pads, as well as skill workshops on topics like welding and furniture building.
